Phenomenal

Pureists will be pissed. Liberties have been taken with the origin story and the major players. Show runners have definately taken the social climate into consideration in casting and writers have pandered to the social justice warriors in how race and gender (i'm only 3 episodes in so i can't speark for sexuality yet) are represented. The social justice appeasement doesn't feel shoe-horned in so it seems more natural than in other recent sci-fi oriented movies and television. The new characters have tons more depth than the characters in the last two LIS iterations... although I will miss Heather Graham as Judy Robinson! Molly Parker makes a fantastic Maureen.

I started watching LIS really late, and couldn't stop watching, I had to force myself to go to bed at 430am. I'm hooked, I can't wait to get back to watching.

I was around when the original aired. Loved the campy goofiness of that one. But when I heard about this one I was hoping for something fresh and more serious. Not disappointed. I'm hooked too. Watching the third one right now.

Since Sci-Fi stopped Dark Matter I've really been looking for something to fill that Sci-Fi void. This couldn't have come at a better time. I'll probably finish the season before the weekend ends

Grindspine

My GF watched it last night.  I did not really get caught up by Lost in Space.

Dark Matter really never went anywhere.  After watching it, I thought that it could have been called Doesn't Matter.

Never seen the original, but we decided to try it out last night. Very interesting, but only for through the first episode lol.
moo.

@Grindspine

Wow, first star wars, now lost in space. You must prefer the fantasy side of sci fi. I'll admit Dark Matter went off the rails there towards the end BUT it started pretty well and with a better direction it could have been a great show. Where they left the last season was idiotic, and everything building up to that was same.

I thought the first season of Dark Matter was the best of the show. I personally did not like the direction it took. At one point I was so hoping that Netflix would pick it up and do something with it.

But I  do like this take on Lost in Space. I have one more episode of this season which I will watch tomorrow night.

Trying to watch LIS now... but, I have to work in the morning, so I have to stop in the middle of episode 3.

BLUEVOODU

I don't have Netflix.   You make me want to watch this.  We tend to binge on shows here and there when we have time... and this seems like it would be the perfect show to do that with.

So... reconsidering Netflix right now... dangit...

Okay I have watched the last episode of the first season. The whole first season really lays a good foundation for what will follow. Now I am ready for season two.  :o

As of two days ago season 2 has yet to be green-lit.

I'd hoped they'd already inked a multi season deal, but according to IGN everyone is anxiously awaiting word.

@retro junkie I'm with you, I can't wait.

If they don't hurry and sign up at least 2 more seasons, Doctor Smith can float home.

I love this version of Dr. Smith. There's absolutely no telling what this character is up to nor what is coming next.

Parker Posy does a great job in the role. Doctor Smith has to be the most complex character in the series. I find myself drawn in trying to figure out the mind set of Doctor Smith and the reasoning behind some of the things she does.
