Sega announced a second Sega Genesis/Megadrive Mini. 50 more games including Sega CD titles and looks like a 6-button controller.

Releasing 10/27/2022 only on Amazon. However, Sega also announced that these will be much more limited than the first one. My guess is they didn't fly off the shelves so they are playing it safe by not making so many. I got my pre-order in.

I got to preorder this today! I do not want to miss this. I love these things. It is the best way to get a taste of the golden age of gaming.

I do wish they had went with the 32x version of Virtua Racing, the better version on the console.

And our preorders will be shipped from Japan!  :o

I bought the Genesis Classic for Renee a couple of years ago. I really think that she has only played it twice though. I have an original Genesis console in storage at the moment. I am pretty sure that her brother still has the games for it somewhere at their mother's house.

It sounds cool, but I do not know if I could rationalize spending money on another revamp of the console.

I mean, it does look like a cool console. Sonic CD is a pretty necessary game library title. I am not seeing much beyond Sonic CD that really nails it as a must-have console though.

This is probably why they're not making as many this time. The people who truly want this will have already pre-ordered. I do remember seeing quite a few of the first run at Target and Best Buy. While the NES and SNES were hardly ever on shelves.

I also got the NES and SNES Classic.  It is kinda funny because I have an original NES, SNES, and Genesis still too. I was never sold on the PS1 though; Sony had so much backwards compatibility that it did not seem that necessary.

Okay, I have hesitated in doing a pre-order. I don't understand why they have not given a full list of the games that will be available on the console, and yet they expect me to do a pre-order. Most of those games listed I have in cart form. So I would have to weigh in my mind would it be worth, or satisfying, to have it for those few games. I do remember having the Sonic CD at one time and it was fun, but................that is a lot of money to throw down for one game. The only time I ever purchased a console for one game was a PS2 for Final Fantasy X.

I do have the Sega Genesis mini, Famicom mini, SNES mini, TG 16 mini, Neo Geo arcade mini, And I enjoy every one of them. These things are such a niche market item. They need to fill this console up because it is just a one shot deal. And, I imagine, that is why they are doing pre-order only. It would be great if they could fill it with some top notch games. Because I feel like this will be the last one. I like the mini concept, but it needs to be loaded with more than fifty something games.

I do have my eye on something else, Genesis mini clone with 228 games from AliExpress. It has gotten some good reviews. And the price is right, around $40.

If I created a pre-order for Amazon... would you all use it?   Technically... if you go to the product links, that works as well and helps the site.

I held off on other Mini consoles... I really wanted the Turbo Grafx Mini... but I just don't have a lot of time right now.   These are stupid tempting to buy though.

Looking at the lineup of games and then looking at my Sega Genesis mini 1. The first mini lineup got me excited for the console, and it is a good group of games. This second attempt just doesn't compare, for me personally. There is just not enough there to justify me having it other than the collectability. I am first and foremost a gamer, and I am just not willing to go there. I have instead went for a modified Sega Genesis mini 1, which contains all of the Genesis games plus the 32X library. (and yes it has SNES, NES, Turbo Grafx 16, and early Atari console games) Game saves for everything with the same menu system and scan lines. The price was just under the price of the mini 2. And I now have it in my hands. The mini 1 is a good quality piece of hardware. And I am sure the second one will be too. There is the thought that not everyone who puts down a preorder will get a mini 2. That is floating around. I may regret my decision somewhere down the road, but I don't think so. Satisfied for now.

@targetrasp got it off of eBay from a seller named usa-seller-miami. The scanlines only works for the genesis games. I was disappointed in that. But I will take what I can get. It ran me $136.99 with free shipping. Still enjoying this setup.

nice, I'll save the seller. I'm bleeding money (more like bled out) so my temperance is finally starting to kick in. It sounds like if i pick up one of these i can keep my minis sealed and have the ability to play everything.
