Oh man.... Good post @Jack. Good links as well.   I'm pumped for this as well.  Did they make a launch date?  I'll probably buy this day 1.

@SpartanEvolved @mastermario @targetrasp @Grindspine  ... have you been following and are you getting this as well?

The MMO aspect is interesting but I really hope they keep it like Diablo and not wow. That's the 1 thing that would keep me from buying.  Raids ... while they can be cool... I just dont have the time to invest.

I need to review a bit more. I'll post up more on the druid class after reviewing.

There is no actual release date, but Blizzard stated that it's still a long way off so I'm thinking that 2021 is more than likely gonna be when we get it, and that's wishful thinking. However they did say that D4 is coming out for PS4/XB1 so I'm wondering if they just said that cause the next gen of consoles wasn't formally announced at the time or if they are actually planning to release it on a previous gen system once D4 actually comes out.

So I'm sure most of us have seen the Diablo 4 reveal by now and I must say that I am INSANELY pumped and cannot wait to get my hands on it (in like 3 years, ugh). I'm fascinated by the light MMO touches that they putting on it, like doing huge raids with massive groups of people. I'm not usually one for MMOs but I like how they are implementing it into D4. Also, the Druid class looks soooooo badass. What are your thoughts on it? I'll post some links below in case you missed the newest trailers.

I honestly couldn't care less that E3 is cancelled. I think all gaming companies should just have live streams of their announcements year round, just like Nintendo does. Why waste money on renting out a venue when you could just live stream only? I'll personally never go to E3 so it makes no difference to me.

I saw it on Xmas day. I personally enjoyed it, though I honestly didn't have super high expectations going in. I was entertained and I thought the ending was appropriate.

I've been anxiously awaiting that Pokémon direct and man, it was awesome! I've been wanting a console Pokémon RPG for years now and it's finally come to fruition. I have Sword pre-ordered and can't wait to check it out.

I've sunk a few hours into it so far and it's honestly not bad. I'm enjoying myself and having fun. The abilities are really fun to use, they feel powerful, and the combo potential with the other classes is great. They are indeed having some server issues and that is my biggest complaint but hopefully that will be fixed soon with patches. The story is alright, good enough to keep me somewhat interested. I got the Legion of Dawn edition for super cheap through a buddy of mine who works for EA and the bonus content it comes with is pretty dope; a whole gear set for your Javelin plus a pretty solid starter weapon.

This game is like Destiny mixed with Warframe and I'm super okay with it. I'm using the Storm Javelin atm (which is essentially the mage class) and boy am I enjoying smiting shit with lightning and fire.

I personally feel that is the most refined BR experience. It has everything that I, as a primarily FPS player, would want in a BR game that doesn't have some weird gimmick like building in Fortnite. It's an extremely polished product that just came out of nowhere and blindsided everybody. Apex Legends is a ray of shiny light in a dark BR saturated market.

Has anybody picked up Anthem yet? I will be in a couple of days and am honestly pretty excited to check it out. I'll be getting it on PS4 if anybody wants to squad up.

Has anybody else been playing this game? I just started and man, it's got to the the best battle royale game that's been made yet. Made by Respawn, the same devs who made Titanfall (a criminally underrated FPS series), this game seems to be the game we've all been wanting. It's free to play on all platforms so anybody who has been thinking about it, definitely give it a shot!

General Discussion / Re: Game of the Year (GOTY) - 2018 ?
February 02, 2019, 11:58:10 PM
I know I'm late to this, but God of War was single handedly my favorite title this past year. The series needed to reinvent itself... the combat and story were getting repetitive. This game delivered on all fronts. It lived up to the hype and even more. I couldn't think of anything they could have done better! Cory Barlog and his team are nothing short of video game geniuses. The nods to all the previous lore in the games was SO amazing for all the fans who have played all the games. The new combat system was perfect, it promoted a more skill based approach with a skill tree and everything. It had a gear system which was a completely element for God of War. The story telling was phenomenal, the soundtrack was flawless.... I really could go on for hours about how much I love the new God of War.

Smash Brothers Ultimate is amazing as well, but I don't even really want to count it as a 2018 game since it released in the very last month. The game is just beginning really, 2019 will be the year that Smash Bros REALLY shines, IMO.

Nope, lol. It's been in the upper 60s down here in Louisiana for a while now.

The only one I have beaten is Infinite and man, I really loved that game. It was just such a unique story with a super interesting environment. The mysteriousness of the game is what drew me in. Plus, I really liked the mechanics of everything. The way the guns felt, the abilities, everything. It also had decent difficulty, it wasn't a cake walk like your typical CoD campaign.

Happy 1 year! I know I've been MIA for a while because of some transitions being made at my job and my hours ramping up but I am still here. Very excited for the future of CDG!

I actually worked the 11 pm launch for my store. After it was over, I took my copy home and immediately starting playing it. I've since sunk about 12 hours into it and am only missing a few characters to unlock. I'm about as addicted to this game as I thought I would be, it's just so damn amazing. I didn't really play Smash 4 too much so I'm not even recognizing a lot of the shared assets, it feels like a completely new game to me. It feels a lot punchier and well polished, like they fixed just about everything that everybody wanted fixed in previous Smash titles.

So far I have been really enjoying using Ganondorf, Simon, Ike, Ryu/Ken, Ridley, Bowser, King K Rool, and Snake. I've been messing around with other characters too as I figure out who I want to mainly focus on. REALLY looking forward to unlocking Mewtwo. I'm taking a small break atm but I'm about to hop right back in. I feel like a kid again with a new smash game unlocking 60+ characters. It's a great time to be alive.

I work for GameStop and can confirm that there's a LOT that they need to work on when it comes to how they treat their employees. At the store level it's fine, no complaints there. My SL is awesome and I love my team, but the problems come from higher up on the latter. The pay is pretty atrocious and the reason most people stick with it is a love for video games and a passion for selling. SUPPOSEDLY GameStop is in the middle of a buy out from another company so some structural changes are bound to happen, hopefully for the better. They are giving us bonuses on our checks after the holidays so that's something to help compensate the lacking pay (there was actually a survey done and over 80% of the employees complained about low wages). Even if the buyout doesn't happen, the higher ups have said that they are going to try their best to help restructure a lot of the quality of life areas for the employees but I'm not really holding my breath, ya know?

Anyway, now that my tangent is over... yes, the deals are pretty damn awesome especially for anybody who is in the market for a PS4 or Xbox One. This work week has been busy as hell with people taking advantage of the sales, especially since the black friday sales started yesterday and last all week. Although I did not see that Black Ops 4 was on sale.

I actually have not picked up Titanfall 2. Is it any decent? I played the first one a little bit on 360.

@Jack I'd really like to do that at some point as well.  Get an UBER character quickly and play at the higher levels.

I want to finish some of the season character achievements - you probably have all those though?

I don't have them all quite yet. I finished all the seasonal quests to get my gear but there's like five more after that so I think I have like two sets of quests left.

Let me power level you guys with my Demon Hunter on D3.

Yo, I am down to play BO4 if anybody ever wants to on PS4.
#23
Hell yeah man, can't wait to play again.

@Jack and @Kinikko - @targetrasp and I ended up playing the other weekend.  I'm trying to get more people playing.  We are currently around level 9-10 Wizard and monk characters in the current season.

The newest thread is:
Diablo 3 Saturday - November 3, 2018

I'm trying to find a time and get others to join up.

Do we have other Diablo 3 players as well?

Sounds good, I can just start another character and level up with y'all since my DH is already maxed out.

As mentioned in topic Official Recent Game Happenings / Progress Thread

@Jack and @targetrasp ... are you down to maybe play tonight?  I should have some time this Saturday too.

We should start new season characters that we use together and level up together.  Thoughts?

I'm down either tonight or tomorrow, whichever works best for you.

I have been playing the mess out of some Diablo 3 since the new season started. We should group up!

100% agreed that 2 TB should be the standard size for hard drives on modern consoles. Most games are upwards of at least 70 GBs.

General Discussion / Attack on Titan
September 05, 2018, 09:43:44 AM
So I am admittedly not a big anime watcher, HOWEVER... my girlfriend is and she got me hooked on Attack on Titan. I can't really get into the more weeby animes but AOT on is so damn interesting and well put together. The story is so interesting, the characters so memorable, the music is so on point with the theme of the show. Does anybody else watch this amazing show?
