I'm excited they found a way to play this game without the motion controls. I played for 10 minutes on the wii and was done with it. Zelda is all about taking risks and changing the formula (often to wonderful and amazing things we didn't know we wanted) but the motion controls fell flat for me.  I'm sure others felt similarly so rereleasing this game was a great move by Nintendo.

But in true Nintendo fashion they've gone and done something incredibly boneheaded, completely saying screw you to their fanbase. Along side the Skyward Sword Switch release there's a $25.00 Zelda and Loftwing Amiibo. It essentially acts as a fast travel from where ever you are to the skyworld (or whatever you call it, i didn't actually see it in the game) where you can purchase items then fast travel right back to wherever you were. What a feature, essentially you can leave a dungeon when you run out of hearts and or items, restock and go right back. No back tracking or no getting killed and starting over. All for the price of $25.00 - unless Nintendo doesn't make enough and scalpers attack...

I luckily found a loftwing preorder today at GameStop - BestBuy and amazon say unavailable and target sold out yesterday... I may try to pick up another just to keep in the box, if I can find one.

You're lucky on the Loftwing... they are hard to come by now.   I am definitely excited for this title.  I'll throw out the pre-order topic with a link back to this topic.

I agree with you as well.  The motion controls were a bit hard to control.  I wanted to like it and dug the motion controls for many games.  Others were hard to stomach, like Trauma Center.  I found myself having to steady my control hand with my other hand while playing the game.  Speaking of that... I think we need a Trauma Center topic.  It has been awhile since I played that game.
