Starpoint Gemini 2 - Steam - Anyone played it?

As I mentioned in the Starpoint Gemini 2 Steam Sale Thread, this game went on sale and has been on my to buy list for awhile. Probably backlog fodder and according to @targetrasp I need to get on the backlog list asap lol.

Anyone played this?  Good experiences?   Steam seems to say they are mostly positive as well... thinking of picking the title up.

I just bought it. I'm really wanting a space game that's not insane to try to learn, and by the reviews this one isn't difficult. Seems like a fun $7.00

I think I'm going to get it as well... looks like the gold edition is only $8.49 - It comes with:

• Starpoint Gemini 2
• Starpoint Gemini 2: Origins --> Which appears to be free anyway?
• Starpoint Gemini 2: Secrets of Aethera --> Mixed reviews
• Starpoint Gemini 2: Titans --> According to the Starpoint Gemini 2: Titans store.steampowered.com site

I'm a big fan of Sins of a Solar Empire - HM... I think a topic needs to be made about that soon.  That's a pretty good "Space Game RTS."   VERY long battles at times though

It looks a little like the ship battles on The Expanse.
