It's been a fairly long time since I touched my Atari Lynx.   I saw something today that made me think of WarBirds and some of the old Atari Lynx gaming from awhile back.  Gates of Zendocon was one of my favorite titles.   However, it may not have aged well.  We might need a Gates of Zendocon topic at some point in the near future.

Has anyone recently picked up an Atari Lynx?  IF so... what did you play?  post it up!

You do know that "retro" is there in my name, right?  :)) I have a tradition, I guess you can call it that. Each year for Christmas we have in our decorations these LED candles that use AA batteries. After Christmas when the decorations come down I have all these AA batteries pulled from those candles. What do I do with all of these batteries? I pull out my Atari LYNX and burn those batteries up. I, right now, have the LYNX at my feet in its bag under my coffee table with a bag of batteries. I have been playing Stun Runner and Robotron. Back in the day I had three Atari LYNX and the wires to link them together and three copies of Warbirds. I would carry them over to someone's house and engage everyone in a session of Warbirds. Those were the days.  :(
I still have two of those LYNX. And I do still have all of my games. Even though the graphics were very blocky, it was a powerful little console for its time. I will pull out Gates of Zendocon and revisit that game today.

@BLUEVOODU yeah I got one of those.

I remember the Lynx and the Jaguar, but the only time I played either one, it was on one of BV's consoles!

@retro junkie  seriously?  you had 3 Lynx systems?  I would've really liked to have played multi-player WarBirds!  I'm sure that could be intense.  If you play Gates of Zendocon again... post up your thoughts and how it held up.

The switchblade... that's funny.  We watched The Karate Kid Series lately...  I had completely forgot about the switch blade craze.

@Grindspine  man.. we played Aliens Vs Predator forever that one night trying to figure it out.  Man... good times.  That was fun.

I picked up one in the early 0's and just couldn't find stuff i liked to play. I'm sure if i had one when they were out and relevant there'd be a little more nostalgia behind it.

If I found one out in the wild I'd probably pick it up and go straight to retro to figure out what to buy for it!

I pulled out my copy of Gates of Zendocon. For some reason I had another game in my mind. But I remembered this one when I started playing. It has a lot of hidden things that I had forgot about until I started playing. For me the game still holds up, but that is to be expected with me because I enjoy the gameplay from that period of gaming. But then again this game has a lot going for it. There is some strategy involved plus with the bonus hidden areas to discover. Even though it is one of those repetitive gameplay in each stage sort of games with high score being your goal, I still find this arcade like. And that is what I enjoy. This is an Epyx game. The console and a lot of the games were originally designed by Epyx and sold to Atari. The owners of Atari at the time were clueless when it came to gaming. That is why the Lynx and the Jaguar sunk.
